The
program begins Monday, April 28 with Brian
Beaulieu, economist and principal of the
Institute for Trend
Research (ITR). Mr. Beaulieu will analyze market/economic trends
that impact the PPE industry, show how these trends correlate, and
project when those trends might change. He will also provide insights
into the economies of China and other key global markets. ITR’s services
are used by many employers from small start-ups to Fortune 100
companies, and ITR enjoys a well-earned reputation for accuracy and
insight.

Political analyst Norman Ornstein
keynotes Tuesday morning, April 29. Ornstein, resident scholar at the
American Enterprise
Institute, is of the nation’s top political pundits, regularly
featured on CBS television, National Public Radio and newspapers
throughout the country. He’ll discuss the upcoming elections, with
special emphasis on Congress and its effect on business and the economy.

The second part of the Tuesday general session will feature an
international trade panel who will
focus on trade and market opportunities in Asian and Latin and South
American nations. Speakers include Ann
Lavin, vice president of the US-ASEAN Business Council;
Jay Thompson, Russia desk officer for
the US Department of Commerce, and John
Anderson, director of the Office of Latin America and the
Caribbean for the Commerce Department.
NETWORKING
Get that drink you promised a colleague at a trade show last year! This
meeting offers a variety of venues to reconnect with friends and meet
others in the safety equipment industry.

The meeting starts on Sunday, April 27 with a buffet dinner at Walker’s
Landing pavilion, sponsored by
Occupational Hazards
magazine.
Watch the sun set over pristine coastal marshlands, as you greet your
colleagues and new ISEA members.
General sessions are Monday and Tuesday mornings. Afternoons are
designed for sports, fun and networking. In addition to the
golf tournaments, we’re bringing back the
tennis and
fishing tournaments, plus a tour of
historic Amelia Island.
A reception follows the Monday afternoon activities.

The meeting ends on Tuesday evening with the annual dinner, sponsored by
Occupational Health & Safety
magazine. We’ll award prizes to our
tournament winners, recognize outgoing volunteer leaders, and wrap up
with a specialty coffee and dessert bar. |
