"We've come a long way, Rosie" but there's still a ways to go. That's the lead for Joe Walker's article in the latest issue of ISEA's magazine for PPE users, published as a supplement to EHS Today. You can read it in the magazine, or in the online edition.
The article describes advances in personal protective equipment that is designed to meet the special needs of women in the workforce. As the article points out, it's not just pink hard hats: ISEA members have equipment in their product lineups that are smaller sized, lightweight, and configured to fit women better. Some of these products are listed in the article, with links to the manufacturers.
The April issue of Protection Update also includes updates on ISEA standards and government activities, including the revised high-visibility apparel standard, calibration validation statement for portable gas monitors and making "green jobs: safe. The back-cover "Safety Equipment Works for You" feature reports on how gloves and turnout gear have saved lives or prevented serious injuries, and the "Making Workers Safer Around the Nation" column carries news on new services from ISEA members as well as OSHA, MSHA, NIOSH and other associations.
