ISEA and the Department of Commerce are teaming up to help member companies expand their export sales.

The association and the U.S. Foreign and Commercial Service (US&FCS) have come together in a partnership called the New Market Exporter Initiative (NMEI), offering member companies customized assistance in breaking into new overseas markets for U.S. products.
 
This program, targeted to the safety equipment industry, is designed for companies that are currently exporting and want to expand into new countries and markets, and companies that are ready to export and are looking for the right opportunity.  It is part of the government's 2010 commitment to double U.S. exports in five years.

Companies that sign up for the NMEI gain access to the worldwide resources of U.S. government trade specialists, who can match them with distributors and customers looking for your specific U.S.-made safety equipment.
 
Services that are part of the program include identification of export markets; free trade counseling, market intelligence and trade advocacy; free market research from an extensive library of reports prepared by trade specialists around the world, and cost-effective business matchmaking services to connect companies with partners and prospects.

"We're excited to be joining forces with Commerce in this initiatiive," said ISEA president Dan Shipp.  "Most ISEA members have some export experience, and this program is designed to help them expand into new countries that they might have missed.  It will also help members that are new to exporting overcome the complexities of breaking into world markets.

"Customers all over the world are looking for high qualify personal protective equipment and technologies made in the USA, and the New Market Exporter Initiative will help our members satisfy that need."

Services available to U.S. exporters include market entry counseling with sector expertise, market research, guidance on cultural issues and business protocol, due diligence on potential foreign customers and distributors, matchmaking services with distributors and buyers, commercial diplomacy and trade missions.
