Standards, whether government-mandated or voluntary, are vital to the safety equipment marketplace.  ISEA is a leader in the development of consensus performance standards, and works closely with government agencies in preparation of government standards for design, use and approval of safety equipment.

This section describes ISEA's standardization program, lists current safety equipment standards, and provides links to other standardization organizations and agencies. It also offers the opportunity to participate in the development and revision of standards, through a consensus review process.

ISEA co-sponsored the China HSE Summit 2006, November 29-30 in Beijing. This forum attracted 150 health, safety and environmental management executives from across China. ISEA President Dan Shipp addressed the summit on the benefits to China's production enterprises of world-class standards development . He also attended a two-day meeting of China's technical committee on personal protective equipment standards.   Copies of his presentations are available here.
